On the morning of June 9, the Azerbaijan stage of the “Peking to Paris Motor Challenge” rally officially began. The launch took place in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center, with the event organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF), and the Baku City Circuit Operating Company.
This is the 9th edition of the rally, which has been held since 1907. It is an international endurance rally specifically for vintage cars, starting in Beijing, passing through several countries, and finishing in Paris.
In the morning, a car exhibition was held in the park area of the Heydar Aliyev Center. Following that, the vintage vehicles set off, traveling through Gobustan, Shamakhi, the Ajinohur–Jeyranchol plateau, and other scenic regions of Azerbaijan, heading toward the city of Qakh.
A total of 55 vintage cars are participating in the rally as it passes through Azerbaijan. On June 10, the participants will leave the country, and the rally will continue into Georgia.
The “Peking to Paris Motor Challenge” is not just a car rally - it's a true endurance challenge that brings together vintage car enthusiasts. Participants cover approximately 15,000 kilometers, navigating a route that demands both resilience and consistency from both drivers and their classic machines.
