On 25 August, a classic car parade and exhibition took place in Baku, organized by Azerbaijan Automobile Federation (AAF), Baku City Circuit Operation Company, Dreamland Golf Club and sponsored by Nazar Holding.
The parade, which has become a tradition in the city of Baku, began with the display of registered classic cars, as well as some of the vehicles from the permanent exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center, on Baku Boulevard.
Leyla Aliyeva – the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Anar Alakbarov – the President of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation, Eldar Azizov – the Head of the Baku City Executive Authority, other well-known people, and city residents attended the event.
Cars manufactured before 1984 participated in the parade. The oldest vehicle among them was the Mercedes-Benz Gazelle produced in 1929. In addition, unique retro cars from different years in the parade created nostalgic feelings among the audience. Starting from the Baku Boulevard, classic cars marched through the central streets of the city.
The streets of Baku were decorated with a caravan of classic cars manufactured in different years and in various countries. Each of these cars has attracted attention not only for its appearance, which differs from modern vehicles and creates nostalgic feelings, but also for its interesting history. Retro vehicles adorning the streets of Baku have revived in real life the scenes that city residents, guests of the capital city and classic car enthusiasts usually see in old movies.
Classic vehicles passed through Baku Boulevard - Neftchilar Avenue - White City - Heydar Aliyev Center - Heydar Aliyev Avenue - Airport Road - Zigh Highway and reached the last point at Dreamland Golf Club.
At the end of the route, an exhibition of classic cars was held at Dreamland Golf Club. Everyone took a nice photo in front of those cars and had the opportunity to get to know the history and features of retro vehicles more closely.
Winners in the categories "The Oldest Car", "The Most Unique Car" and "The Most Colorful Dress" were chosen and awarded.
Along with the nominations, the guests were presented with a concert and entertainment program with the participation of well-known performers.
Popular singers Aysel, Dilara Kazimova, Khayyam Nisanov, Elnur and Nigar, Murad Arif, Nura Suri, Rilaya Huseynzade, Zamiq Huseynov performed at the concert.
Such events are aimed at the development of the field of motor sports among the population. In this direction, the efforts made by the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation should be noted.
